As a young child I relished my escapes into the branches of trees. I trusted my bare feet, the strength of the branches, the lure of the sky. With a book I could sit for hours, sometimes waiting for the sun to nearly set. These were my first travels to other lands and distant places.
For the last year and a half--and for the next six months-- I will be living in a small-ish agricultural community in central Japan.
